I find pyjamas terribly restrictive, so I tend to sleep naked. I have terrible problems getting off to sleep too, and as a result waking up in the morning is always a struggle.
A doctor friend suggested I sleep with my bedroom curtains open - that way, natural light can come into the room, waking me gradually. This seems to work reasonably well, I just have to make sure I keep away from the window when I wake up.
Now, as a police officer I sometimes work nightshifts, so I occasionally don't get home until around 8am. Obviously I need the room dark to get off to sleep, so that's the only time my curtains ever get drawn.
One time I woke up and glanced across at my alarm clock - if I remember correctly, the display said it was almost 6 o'clock. Thinking that it was too early for anyone to be out and about, I got out of bed, walked over to the window, and drew the curtains... to find myself staring at the lady in the house opposite mine, looking straight at me from her bedroom window, with reasonably bright sunlight streaming in and lighting me slightly too well.
6pm is not the best time to be standing naked in front of your window...
Lol, excellent! Definitely one to tell your grandkids! But haven't you ever heard of net curtains??
My experience goes something like this...
Mr Man was in his studio, which is the bedroom at the back of the house and backs on to a junior school playground. Being late in the year, by 4pm it was dark outside and he had put the light on. Silly me walks in absolutely starkers (as you do) expecting the curtains to be drawn...
Now the funny thing about Mr Man is that when he's delusional he thinks people can see him all the time - as if they can see through brick! But when he's feeling ok I can't seem to get him to understand that people can see through net curtain when it's dark outside and the light is on.
So I drop to the floor, hoping that none of the teachers, parents, and children still leaving the school have seen me. Mr Man insists that no one can see through our nets and so refuses to draw the curtains. Now this isn't a large room, so on all fours it was impossible for me to turn around. So I had to crawl out of the room backwards!
Not a pretty sight. Sorry if that was too much information! (I have trouble sleeping too, and I'm probably going to regret this comment after I've had some sleep!)
